EXPECTATION VS. REALITY

Welcome back everyone! Hope everyone got to stretch back, get your mind off some workload during the mid semester break and the first week back to uni has been going well! Now it’s time to get back to finishing the last remaining six weeks of semester 2😉

Hear about the realities of your first Data Scientist job from a recent graduate at ANZ. Plus, the skills you can hone to make sure your work gets traction in the real world.

‼️GIVEAWAY ATTENTION‼️ As this is our first event after the semester break, if you attend the event in person, you will be in the draw to win one of 2*$20 Pb tech cards.

👀 ANZ will be talking about:

- What to expect in your first role as a Data Scientist out in the real world; from dealing with Imposter Syndrome to the realities of working on nuanced, live business problems.

- A range of techniques you can use to make sure your work gets the attention it deserves.

🏅Speakers intro:

- Kayle Ransby:

Kayle Ransby gained a spot in a summer internship for ANZ last year and has since taken a full-time Data Scientist role in their Enterprise Analytics team. Based on his experience, Kayle will share his view on what to expect in your first role as a Data Scientist out in the real world – from dealing with Imposter Syndrome to the realities of working on nuanced, live business problems.

- Kimberley Smyth:

With 15 years' experience in Marketing, Product Management and Data Storytelling, Kimberley Smyth has built the softer skills that are essential for making sure analytical work is delivered in an engaging way that inspires action. In the real world, your work will most often be produced for people who don’t understand what you do, so Kimberley will share a range of techniques you can use to make sure your work gets the attention it deserves.

Pizzas 🍕 and drinks 🥤 will be provided after the event, so come and hear stories from ANZ and socialize! 🤝
